PM MODI'S REPLY TO MOTION OF THANKS ON PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS IN LOK SABHA: TOP QUOTES

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday replied to the Motion of Thanks on the President's address in Lok Sabha. As he stood up to address the House, the opposition started sloganeering demanding statements on Manipur and other issues from the PM.

Here are the top quotes from his speech.

- The public has chosen us in the world's largest election campaign and I can understand the pain of some people. Despite spreading lies continuously, they suffered a huge defeat.

- President Murmu has elucidated on our resolve for 'Viksit Bharat', has spoken on important issues.

- Our big campaign to lift over 25 crore people out of poverty brought us blessings during elections.

- Our zero tolerance against corruption has received people's support, we have been solely guided by 'India first'.

- The country saw appeasement politics for long, we followed 'santushtikaran' not 'tushtikaran'; justice for all, appeasement to none.

- We want to assure people that we will make tireless, honest, committed efforts to fulfil our resolve for 'Viksit Bharat'

- The country was in depths of despair in 2014, people elected us and an era of transformation began.

- Those who danced with the Constitution on their head did not dare to implement it in J&K, they insulted BR Ambedkar.

- We will take our success to the next level, our challenge is to further speed up the pace of progress.

- In the third term, we will work with three times more strength and speed, and bring three times more results.

- Mandate for Congress to sit in the opposition, and start shouting when logic fails.

- We saw childish behaviour in Lok Sabha yesterday.

- Congress spreading anarchy through its economic policies, divisive politics around castes and regions, and questioning the democratic process.

- I don't know whether the alliance partner of Congress has reviewed these elections (Lok Sabha poll results) or not. These elections are a message for them as well. From 2024 onwards, the Congress will be known as a parasite party. The parasite eats the body in which it lives. The Congress, too, eats the votes of the party which it allies with and grows at the cost of alliance parties, its allies are behind its victory in most of the 99 seats it won.

- The remarks by Congress leaders have left behind dialogues of Sholay film. You all must remember the 'Mausi' from the film Sholay.

- Rahul is out on bail in a corruption case, convicted for insulting the OBC community and facing several defamation cases.

- Parliament was misled yesterday; parliamentary democracy cannot be protected if it is not taken seriously.

- A trend has begun to gain sympathy. I would like to tell you about a child who had returned from school and complained to her mother that he was beaten in the school. The child didn't reveal that he had abused someone in the school, tore a child's book and stolen someone's tiffin. Yesterday, we saw a childish behaviour in the House. This was to gain sympathy. However, the nation knows that this person is out on bail in a corruption case, he has received punishment for calling an OBC person a thief and he has a case registered against himself for insulting Veer Savarkar.

- On July 1, the country celebrated the 'Khata Khat Diwas', and people were checking their bank accounts to see whether they had received Rs 8,500 or not. The Congress misled the people in these (Lok Sabha) elections and lied that they would provide Rs 8,500 to our mothers and sisters. The curse of our mothers and sisters is going to destroy Congress.

- It's a serious matter that conspiracy is being hatched to level false allegations against Hindus.

- Lies regarding EVM... lies regarding Constitution... lies regarding reservation... before that, lies regarding Rafale, HAL, LIC, banks... They even dared to mislead the House yesterday. They told lies regarding Agniveer. They said that MSP is not being given.

- This is the nation's bad luck that Congress, which ruled for six decades, is busy spreading anarchy. They go to the South and speak against people of North; they speak against South when they go to North. They have made all possible attempts to create a divide based on language. The leaders who advocated separation of a part of the country, they were given Parliament tickets by the Congress.

- They coined phrases like 'Hindu terrorism', their ally likened this religion to dengue; the country will never forgive them.
