ALI FAZAL SAYS PANCHAYAT'S JITENDRA KUMAR TO REPRISE THIS ROLE IN MIRZAPUR 3

Jitendra Kumar is set to enter the Mirzapur universe as Sachiv Ji! Yes, you heard that right. Straight from the land of Panchayat, Jitendra aka Jeetu will reprise his fan-favourite role in the third season of Mirzapur that premiers on July 5.

Cross-promotions is nothing new in the digital space. We've seen actors appearing in each other's web shows in the past. Taking the lead yet again is Prime Video that is set to bring Sachiv Ji in two episodes of the upcoming Mirzapur 3. This was confirmed by Mirzapur's lead actor Ali Fazal himself.

In a slip-of-tongue of sorts, Ali revealed that Jitendra will make a special appearance on his show to promote Panchayat and also play a little part in its plot. Ali disclosed the same to ANI. He said, "That’s cross-promotion. We have done that." The agency also mentioned that Jitendra will appear in two episodes as Sachivji, dealing with paperwork related to the death of Kaleen Bhaiya, played by Pankaj Tripathi.

Prime Video had taken the cross-promotions route even in the past. We saw how JK Talpade (Sharib Hashmi) from The Family Man appeared in a special video with Hathiram Chaudhary (Jaideep Ahlawat) from Paatal Lok, to promote their shows.

Mirzapur 3 will follow the events of its previous season, including Munna Bhaiya's death at the hands of Guddu Pandit. While Kaleen Bhaiya managed to forge an alliance with Sharad, he was left heavily injurred.

The hit web show exlores themes of power, politics, revenge, and betrayal against the backdrop of Mirzapur's underworld. The new season will bring back lead actors Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi and Rasika Dugal. Vijay Verma, Isha Talwar and Anjum Sharma who joined the cast in its second season will also reprise their parts.
