Ace India batter Virat Kohli was seen on a video call, presumably with wife Anushka Sharma, showing her the live visuals of Hurricane Beryl, the video of which has gone viral on social media. Kohli, who is stranded with the Indian cricket team in Barbados after their win against South Africa in the T20 World Cup final, used the chance to give his wife a firsthand look at the powerful hurricane.

Kohli, expressing his gratitude and joy, had penned a heartfelt note to Anushka after India’s T20 World Cup 2024 win. Now, unable to fly back to India due to the hurricane that has ravaged the Caribbean, he was seen on a video call.

Kohli was one of the architects of India’s win as he played a brilliant innings of 76 (59) after India were left reeling at 34/3 in the powerplay. Watch the video here:

As per latest reports, the Indian team, stranded in Barbados since the T2o World Cup win will depart the Caribbean this morning. They will fly to New Delhi, where they are expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Team members, support staff and their families have been stranded on the island for the last three days because of flight cancellations caused by the hurricane, which hit the Caribbean on Monday with high intensity.

As a precautionary step, Barbados was shut down for three days, forcing the victorious Indian players to remain confined to their hotel. BCCI managers have been trying to arrange a private jet to transport the Indian players home, but they have faced obstacles because of the closure of the airport.
