KAMAL HAASAN’S INDIAN 2 SHOWS A MASSIVE SPIKE FOR PREMIERE SHOWS; CROSSES US $ 125,000 MARK
Fate can change overnight and that is exactly what happened with Kamal Haasan’s upcoming film Indian 2, which is a sequel to his 1996 blockbuster film Hindustani, directed by Shankar. Till yesterday, the film had earned around US $ 81,775 but today, the collection has jumped to US $ 125,181 ( Rs 1 crore). Nearly 5600 tickets have been sold across 292 cinema halls, with still eight days to go for the premiere shows.
Earlier, Indian 2 was supposed to be just a sequel, but now Shankar has decided to turn the film into a trilogy. It turned out that after shooting the second part, on the edit table he felt the film had a lot of scope, so he decided to break it into 2 separate films.
The film stars Siddharth, Kajal Agarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, and SJ Suryah in lead roles. While AR Rahman had composed the music for the original, this time Shankar has enlisted Anirudh with the music department. Following Indian 2, Shankar will be releasing Game Changer, featuring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani.
These are very interesting times for Kamal Haasan as he’s already delivered Kalki 2898 AD and has Thug Life with Mani Ratnam and Vikram 2 with Lokesh Kanagaraj in the piepline.
