NAVEEN-UL-HAQ'S INSTAGRAM POST AFTER AFGHANISTAN'S STATEMENT WIN AGAINST AUSTRALIA GOES VIRAL
Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq's Instagram post after the team's historic win over Australia has gone viral on social media. He was one of the main architects of one of Afghanistan's biggest wins ever on Sunday, June 22 in the ongoing T20 World Cup. The Afghans remained alive in the race to the semifinals with their statement win over Australia.
Defending 149 on a spin-friendly wicket, Afghanistan had the perfect start as Naveen picked up two early wickets with the new ball to peg Australia back. But what has drawn more attention has been his Instagram post, hitting out at critics.
Naveen's Instagram post shows two situations, where a person is sitting alone in a stadium, compared to a stand full of fans. While the first slide reads support, the second reads congratulations. Naveen captioned the post with a finger on the lips emoji.
Meanwhile, Naveen first cleaned up Travis Head for a duck with a fuller ball and then he deceived the captain Mitchell Marsh with a slower ball as he holed out to Mohammad Nabi.
Glenn Maxwell eased the pressure with two boundaries off Azmatullah but Nabi removed David Warner (3), who went for a slog sweep only to find Noor Ahmad as Australia scored the lowest Powerplay score of 33/3 this tournament.
Maxwell, who had tormented Afghanistan during the 2023 ODI World Cup, continued to find the fours as he clattered spinner Nangeyalia Kharote for a boundary and a six.
