CDSL Bonus 2024: Shares of Central Depository Services (CDSL) have jumped more than 20 per cent in the last three days in anticipation of its first-ever bonus issue announcement. The company's board is set to meet today to formally announce the bonus issue.

The sharp uptick in CDSL shares started after the depository announced on June 28 that its Board is set to hold a meeting to consider and approve the proposal for issuance of bonus shares.

"A meeting of the Board of Directors of Central Depository Services (India) Limited (“CDSL/Company”) is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, July 02, 2024, inter alia, to consider and approve the proposal for issuance of Bonus Shares, if any, subject to the approval of the Shareholders of the Company," CDSL announced the BSE exchange filing.

The record date for this purpose has yet to be determined and will be communicated at a later date.

The record date is set by the company to determine which shareholders are eligible to receive the offer. To qualify for a bonus issue, shares must be held in the demat account before the record date.

In its Q4FY24 results, the company's board announced a final dividend of Rs 19 per share along with a special dividend of Rs 3 per share, commemorating the 25-year silver jubilee celebrations of CDSL.

CDSL reported an 86% increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 267 crore for the quarter ended March 2024 while revenue rose 93% to Rs 240.8 crore. EBITDA stood strong at Rs 148 crore, up by 111% from Rs 70 crore for the same period last year.

In segment-wise revenue, the revenue from depository activity grew by 88.3% from 98.30 crore to Rs 185.08 crore and the margins also showed a significant increase of 580 bps YoY at 61.4%, up from 55.6%.
