BABAR AZAM, PAKISTAN MANAGEMENT SIDELINED 25-YEAR-OLD SPINNER FOR TEA MAKING DUTY DURING T20 WORLD CUP?

Babar Azam and Pakistan's T20 World Cup campaign might be over, but murmurs of discontent surround young spinner Abrar Ahmed. Senior Pakistani journalist Abdul Majid Bhatti has stirred the pot by claiming the 25-year-old mystery spinner was relegated to tea-making duties throughout the tournament held in America.

Bhatti's comments have sparked debate on social media, with some fans expressing outrage at the alleged mistreatment.

In a conversation on Geo News, Bhatti was asked about how PSL star Usama Mir was ignored for the World Cup, to which he replied, " PSL top performer Usama Mir was not selected for the Pakistan World Cup squad because he had upset those in the PCB."

"But those selected are also not given a chance, a case in point being Abrar Ahmed," he added.

Abrar Ahmed's exclusion from the playing eleven raised a lot of eyebrows. Fans and critics blasted Babar Azam for not selecting their mystery spinner despite terrible outings from Shadab Khan.

Shedding light on the matter, Bhatti claimed, "From what my investigations and sources told me - is that Abrar was relegated to tea-making duties. Those close to the Pakistan team told me - he makes good tea. Jis kamre mai mehfil jami hoti hai, usmey kehte hai, Abrar ko bula lein. Woh sab ko chai banakar khilayenge. "Whenever there was a good atmosphere in a room, Abrar was asked to make tea for everyone."

"He is a good bowler, but he came back without playing a game and simply had a good trip to America," Bhatti added.

During the World Cup, media reports also suggested Shadab was on the Pakistan team because of his personal friendship with Babar.

While team selection is always under the microscope, the emergence of such allegations of mistreatment can significantly dent team morale, a matter of concern for all cricket enthusiasts.
