CHIEF MINISTER STARTED CAMPAIGN FOR SHIMLA PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUENCY FROM REMOTE DODRA-KWAR

SHIMLA: Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu started his election campaign for Shimla parliamentary constituency from remote area Dodra-Kwar in Shimla district on Friday. Launching a strong attack on the BJP, he said that the BJP tried to grab power through money power but its intentions could not succeed. He said that the people of state will definitely punish the BJP for trying to grab power and will give all four Lok Sabha seats of the state to the Congress party. He said that BJP used money power to woo six Congress MLAs who cross-voted against the Congress candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections. He said that sellable leaders can never be public servants.

He said that leader of opposition Jai Ram Thakur, in arrogance of money power, even said that even God cannot save Congress government, but with the blessings of the gods and goddesses, the present state government got the budget passed. He said that his government closed the doors of corruption, due to which money came into the state treasury and with this money new schemes for public welfare were started.

He said that BJP is not able to digest women getting pension. He said that the Election Commission has given permission to fill the forms of this scheme and on June 1, an amount of Rs 3,000 will be transferred to the eligible women's accounts.

Sukhu said that the state government has sanctioned Rs 3 crore for the construction of Jiskoon-Jakha road and its construction work is in progress. He said that even when he was the Congress state president, he had visited Dodra-Kwar and now even after becoming the Chief Minister, he has come to this area. He said that soon he will once again visit Dodra-Kwar.

He said that the state government has increased the support price for apple purchase by one and a half rupees. He said that at the time of the disaster that hit the state last year, the apple season was going on, but his government worked on war footing and opened all the roads on time so that the apple crop of the farmers reached the mandis at the right time. He said that last year apples were sold in kilos and from next year the state government is going to implement universal cartons which will further strengthen the economy of apple growers.
