SEVERAL ROADS, NATIONAL HIGHWAYS CLOSED IN GUJARAT DUE TO HEAVY RAINFALL

Two national highways in Junagadh are blocked due to heavy rainfall across various parts of Gujarat. Pictures show the highways submerged in rainwater, causing severe waterlogging in the affected areas. Deputy Collector JP Zala confirmed the closures, stating, “Three major highways in Junagadh and six district connecting roads have been shut. Alerts have been issued for low-lying areas, and affected routes are closed until water levels recede.”

In another incident, heavy rainfall in Ahmedabad Smart City caused a large sinkhole to form at Shela, resembling a crater. Social media footage captured the road collapsing and water flowing into the cavity.
