HATHRAS STAMPEDE NEWS: UP CM ADITYANATH'S FIRST REACTION AS 27 DIE AT RELIGIOUS GATHERING

New Delhi: As many as 27 people lost their lives in a stampede at a religious gathering in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras on Tuesday evening. Following the tragic incident, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave instructions to investigate the causes of the incident under the leadership of ADG Agra and Commissioner Aligarh.

27 people, including 23 women, 3 children, and 1 man died, at a religious event was going on in Mughalgarhi village of Hathras district. The dead bodies have been sent to Etah Hospital while the injured persons are being taken to hospital for treatment.

UP Chief Minister's Office said that the CM expressed condolences to the bereaved families of those who died in the accident.

Office of UP CM Yogi Adityanath tweeted, "UP CM Yogi Adityanath has expressed condolences to the bereaved families of those who died in the accident in Hathras district. He has also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. He has directed the district administration officials to immediately take the injured to the hospital for their proper treatment and to speed up the relief work at the spot. He has given instructions to investigate the causes of the incident under the leadership of ADG Agra and Commissioner Aligarh."

UP CM also took to his official X account and said that a team consisting of ADG Agra and Aligarh Commissioner has been constituted to enquire into the cause of the incident.

UP CM took to his official X account and wrote, "The loss of life in the unfortunate accident in Hathras district is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. My condolences are with the bereaved family. Instructions have been given to the concerned officials to conduct relief and rescue operations on war footing and to provide proper treatment to the injured."

He added," Hon'ble Minister in Uttar Pradesh Government, Shri Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary Ji, Shri Sandeep Singh Ji have left for the incident site and have directed the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of the state to reach the incident site. A team has been formed under the leadership of ADG, Agra and Commissioner, Aligarh and instructions have also been given to investigate the causes of the accident. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed souls in his feet and provide speedy recovery to the injured."

27 Killed In Hathras Stampede

Etah SSP Rajesh Kumar Singh said, "... A religious event was going on in Mughalgarhi village of Hathras district when the stampede occurred. So far 27 dead bodies have been received in the Etah Hospital, including 23 women, 3 children, and 1 man. The injured have not reached the hospital... Further investigation is being carried out. Identification of these 27 bodies is being carried out..."

CMO Etah, Umesh Kumar Tripathi said many injured have also been admitted to hospital, adding that further details will be revealed after the investigation. The primary reason is a stampede during a religious event, he said.
