9-YEAR-OLD VARANASI BOY WITH BRAIN TUMOUR BECOMES IPS OFFICER FOR A DAY, VIDEO GOES VIRAL

Many candidates take several attempts to pass the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Exam (CSE), but Ranveer Bharti, 9, lived his dream of becoming an ‘IPS officer’ for a day, thanks to Piyush Mordia, Additional Director General (ADG) of Police, Varanasi Zone.

Sharing Bharti's video on X, the official handle of ADG Zone Varanasi wrote, "9-year-old Ranveer Bharti is undergoing treatment for a brain tumour at Mahamana Cancer Hospital, Varanasi. In such a situation, Ranveer expressed his wish to become an IPS officer, so the child's wish was fulfilled in the office."

The now-viral video shows Bharti sitting in a cabin dressed in khaki uniform, meeting and shaking hands with officers.

Social media users praised Mordia for the gesture. Reacting to the video, an X user wrote, “Sir you won my heart. I salute you from my heart.” Another user commented, “A great well thought initiative from the Police Deptt. that will motivate Ranveer forever, and that would help his early recovery......thanks to the entire team of the deptt.”
