On Wednesday, director Lokesh Kanagaraj took to social media to reveal superstar Rajinikanth's look from their highly-anticipated film Coolie. The image, showcasing Rajinikanth in an uber-cool avatar, quickly went viral, captivating fans worldwide.
The photograph, shared by Kanagaraj on X, sparked excitement among Rajinikanth's followers. Fans flooded the comments section with praise and enthusiasm. It has to be noted the look is reminiscent of Kaala from Pa Ranjith's socio-political film.
Details about Coolie remain under wraps, adding to the intrigue surrounding the project. However, an earlier teaser offered a glimpse into the film's action-packed narrative. In the teaser, Rajinikanth is seen thrashing goons with a belt made out of gold watches. The whole teaser hinted that the film could be a heist thriller.
Coolie marks the first collaboration between Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth, a pairing that has fans eagerly awaiting the film’s release. The movie, produced on a grand scale by Sun Pictures, was officially launched in September 2023.
Adding to the film's star power, Coolie reportedly features popular actor Sivakarthikeyan in a pivotal role. However, it remains a rumour as the makers are yet to confirm the speculation. Renowned composer Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to score the music, promising a dynamic soundtrack to complement the film's high-octane action. The cast and crew of the film are yet to be officially announced.
While the exact release date of Coolie has yet to be announced, the film will be released in 2025.
