DELTA AIRLINES MAKES EMERGENCY LANDING AT JFK AFTER PASSENGERS SERVED 'CONTAMINATED FOOD'

New York City: A Delta Airlines plane headed towards Amsterdam had to make an emergency landing in New York City after passengers onboard were served 'contaminated food' during the flight.

'Delta flight 136 from Detroit to Amsterdam diverted to New York's JFK early Wednesday morning after it was discovered that a portion of the in-flight meal service was spoiled,' a spokesperson told Daily Mail.

It is currently known how many passengers onboard the airplane consumed the spoiled food, the report said.

Medics were put on standby and attended to any affected passengers after it made the emergency landing in JFK.

An apology issued by Delta read: 'This is not the service Delta is known for and we sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience and delay in their travels.'

The Airbus A330 plane had 277 customers on board and departed from the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport shortly before 11 pm on Tuesday, the report said.
