NEERAJ CHOPRA UNDERGOES SURGERY IN SWITZERLAND AFTER FINISING SECOND IN DIAMOND LEAGUE 2024 FINAL

India’s two-time Olympics medallist Neeraj Chopra underwent a successful surgery on his left hand in Switzerland on September 16, a source told Sports Tak. Neeraj competed in the Diamond League 2024 final in Brussels on September 14 and missed winning the glittering Diamond Trophy by the barest of margin.

On September 15, Neeraj posted an X-ray of his left hand and said that he fractured his left hand during a training session on September 9.

"On Monday, I injured myself in practice and x-rays showed that I had fractured the fourth metacarpal in my left hand. It was another painful challenge for me. But with the help of my team, I was able to participate in Brussels," the 26-year-old wrote on his social media handle.

"This was the last competition of the year, and I wanted to end my season on the track. While I couldn’t meet my own expectations, I feel this was a season in which I learned a lot. I am now determined to return, fully fit and ready to go."

Earlier, he said he will consult the doctors and have surgery to treat his groin injury if needed.
