NEW DELHI: Kolkata Knight Riders team encountered a challenging situation when their flight from Lucknow to Kolkata was repeatedly rerouted due to turbulent weather conditions. As a result of the unexpected circumstances, the players were compelled to spend the night in Varanasi.

However, the team's unplanned stop in Varanasi turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as they had the opportunity to visit the renowned Kashi Vishwanath Temple, a sacred Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.

KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy shared photos on his social media account, along with the message, "Appreciate every day. It's a blessing. The magic will happen."

Other members of the squad were also seen taking boat rides on the western bank of the holy river Ganga.

After their impressive 98-run victory against the Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, the team departed on Monday evening at 5:45 pm, with an expected arrival time of 7:25 pm in Kolkata.

However, due to adverse weather conditions, the charter flight was initially diverted to Guwahati and then to Varanasi.

Despite receiving clearance to fly back to Kolkata from Guwahati, the team encountered further difficulties as multiple attempts to land the plane in Kolkata were unsuccessful. Ultimately, the flight was diverted mid-air to Varanasi, where the team landed in the early hours of the morning.
