OKLAHOMA TORNADO TRACKER: WARNINGS IN HILLSDALE, DEWEY, GARFIELD COUNTY AND OTHER AREAS

A tornado warning has been issued in several parts of Oklahoma, including Hillsdale, Dewer and the Garfield County, on Saturday. This comes a day after multiple twisters caused catastrophic damage in Nebraska and Iowa. The Sooner State is also expected to experience flash flooding and 5-10 inches of rain.

"Tornado Warning continues for Medford OK, Pond Creek OK and Jefferson OK until 1:45 PM CDT," the National Weather Service (NWS) said on Saturday. "A Tornado Watch is in effect for parts of western Oklahoma and western North Texas until 8 PM CDT. This is a "particularly dangerous situation" with large damaging tornadoes possible," the agency further added.

Meanwhile, tornado maps show a twister hit Hillsdale, Oklahoma. "Yep that’s a strong tornado on the ground near hillsdale Oklahoma! TAKE COVER NOW!" a user posted on X, platform formerly known as Twitter.

In its warning on Saturday, the NWS said: "TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest

floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris."

"A Tornado Watch is in effect for parts of western Oklahoma and western North Texas until 8 PM CDT. This is a particularly dangerous situation. Several tornadoes (a few intense), very large hail (2-3 in.), and wind gusts up to 75 mph are the expected hazards. Stay weather aware," the agency added.
