BTS' Jin will carry the torch for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. Scheduled to be a torchbearer on July 27, Jin will soon depart for France, though specific dates and locations have not yet been disclosed.

This will be Jin's second public activity since his discharge from the military in June. The Paris Olympic torch, which was lit in Greece, made its way to France last month. It is projected to traverse over 400 locations, covering approximately 12,000 kms before reaching the opening ceremony on July 27.

Joining Jin as torchbearers are around 11,000 individuals, including notable athletes, Holocaust survivors, relatives of Nice terror attack victims, astronauts, and sanitation workers. The 2024 Paris Summer Olympics will take place from July 27 to August 11, featuring over 15,000 athletes from 206 countries competing in 329 events across 32 sports.

South Korea is set to send up to 142 athletes across 21 sports, with the aim of securing gold medals in archery, fencing, badminton, and taekwondo. The Korean team's send-off ceremony is scheduled for July 9.

Meanwhile, following his military discharge, Jin is expanding his activities, as he is not only participating in the torch relay but is also currently in the process of recording new music. He has also been shooting for variety shows and is expected to release new content in the next quarter.

Speaking of BTS, bandmate J-hope will be discharged in October this year followed by other members - RM, Suga, Jungkook, V and Jimin by June 2025. The group will reconvene in 2025.
