DRDO GEARS UP FOR MAJOR STRATEGIC MISSILE TESTS TO BOOST DEFENCE CAPABILITIES

India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is gearing up to advance its missile program with a comprehensive testing schedule set for next month.

According to sources, the DRDO will test a variety of missile systems, including both conventional and strategic missiles, marking a significant milestone in the country's efforts to bolster its defence capabilities.

These tests will not only enhance the performance of existing missile systems but also introduce new-generation missiles. This initiative aligns with India's commitment to achieving self-reliance in defence, a goal that has gained urgency in light of recent geopolitical changes.

The planned testing schedule will focus on strategic missile systems that will strengthen India's deterrence capabilities. This development came after the recent induction of India's second nuclear submarine, INS Arighaat, which is equipped with K-4 and K-15 submarine-launched ballistic missiles.

The addition of these advanced systems marks a critical enhancement to India's nuclear triad, reinforcing its strategic forces on both land and sea.

The DRDO is now focusing on the development of new-generation missiles to meet emerging challenges in land and maritime defence. The success of recent tests of indigenous missile systems has paved the way for these advancements, highlighting India's growing prowess in homegrown defence technology.

As India continues to navigate a complex geopolitical landscape, these tests and developments underscore the nation's commitment to securing its strategic interests and enhancing its defence posture in the Indian Ocean Region and beyond.
