Sean Viator, an American Idol Finalist and Billboard Music Awards dance contestant, passed away on Friday. The LA-based dance educator and professional choreographer died at the age of 31. The news of Sean's death was shared by many of his former colleagues who remembered him as a "beautiful soul." A 'Celebration of Life ceremony' is planned at Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday, May 10, 2024, to remember the artist and his contribution to the entertainment industry.

"RIP Sean Viator 💔 My heart breaks, I can't believe it. So lucky I got to work with him once. An incredible dancer and talent who had only just begun. My condolences to his family and friends," wrote Jessica Redish, Film Director and Award-winning Choreographer wrote on Facebook.

Sean's sudden demise shocked many in the entertainment world including among those in professional dancing circuits in Los Angeles, New York City, and Baton Rouge. His cause of death was not made public.

"I am shocked and devastated along with many from our dance community. Sean Viator was a dear friend and huge part of my life history dancing together in Baton Rouge, Debbie Allen shows, UA Dance as classmates/roommates, and many cherished memories + friendships," fellow artist Taylor Mitchell said on Sean's death.

Born and raised in Louisiana's Baton Rouge, Sean dedicated most part of his life to dance. In his notable career, he performed with stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Sam Smith, and Demi Levato. Some of Sean's credits include the Billboard Music Awards with Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato, the American Idol Season finale with Kylie Minogue, "I'm Ready" music video for Sam Smith and Demi Lovato, Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes.

Apart from being an exceptional artist himself, Sean stood for the dance community on several crucial issues, as per his obituary released on Legacy. He was an activist as well as a member of Bloc Talent Agency. Sean completed his major in dance studies from the University of Arizona.

Nearly a month ago, Sean was seen performing at Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles.

Sean is father Todd, stepmother Jennifer, mother Celeste, Terry; sisters Natalie, Stephanie; brother Christopher; nieces Piper, Penelope; grandfather Kenward.

Sean's funeral is going to be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home - Baton Rouge (11817 Jefferson Highway). Visiting hours will be from 12:30 pm, per local time, until Memorial Services at 2:30 pm.
