STAFFER: WOMAN WORKED AT REVANNA AIDE'S FARM

Bengaluru: The woman whose alleged kidnapping led to HD Revanna arrest worked at a Mysuru farmhouse of his personal assistant, Rajgopal, even as the former JD(S) minister was remanded in police custody for four days.

Swamy, the labourer at the Kalenahalli farmhouse in KR Nagar, also claimed Karnataka Police's SIT did not find the woman there on Saturday but she was traced to a bus stand in nearby Hunsur. Initial reports suggested she was "rescued" by SIT from the farmhouse.

According to Swamy, the woman visited the farmhouse three-four days before the SIT arrived there. When he asked her why she was at the farmhouse, she told him that she had come to work. Swamy told news channels that she needed about Rs 25,000-30,000 to clear some dues. He said she was staying in one of the rooms in the farmhouse and never mentioned "kidnap" to him or other staff.

Swamy claimed the woman left the farmhouse between 5-5:30am on Saturday, adding he learnt about her alleged kidnapping only after SIT arrived later. Senior officials refused to comment on Swamy's version. According to Swamy, Rajgopal and his family stay in Bengaluru. He also alleged that Rajgopal was "taken" by police on Friday.

The claims and counter-claims over the woman came even as Revanna denied the kidnapping allegations after his remand hearing in Bengaluru.
