SHAH RUKH KHAN’S RED CHILLIES ENTERTAINMENTS HAS MADE A NET PROFIT OF ₹85 CRORE IN FY23

Shah Rukh Khan's production company Red Chillies Entertainments has earned a net profit of ₹85 crore for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2023, according to the company's latest regulatory filings. This is better than the lost of ₹22 crore in the previous financial year. The filings with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs showed that the revenue rose 2.3 times to ₹300 crore from ₹130 crore in FY22. The company, however, is yet to report results for the fiscal year through March 2024.

Red Chillies, which is co-owned by Shah Rukh Khan and his wife and interior designer Gauri Khan, earns its revenue from film production and distribution, OTT content production, and through VFX services.

According to The Economics Times, during fiscal 2023, the company's inventories, unreleased films and unsold film rights stood at ₹367 crore. Meanwhile web series and films under development stood at ₹357 crore and film rights at ₹9.6 crore, respectively.

The last few projects that Red Chillies was associated with were Darlings, a co-production with Alia Bhatt, which had a direct-to-OTT release on Netflix in 2022. Before that, Red Chillies premiered Loved Hostel starring Vikram Massey, Sanya Malhotra, and Bobby Deol, on Zee5.

The films opted for direct-to-OTT release due to the third Covid-19 wave. Red Chillies has also ventured into OTT production, producing shows like Class of 83 and Bard of Blood.

Red Chillies has a subsidiary, Red Chillies International, and two step-dwon subsidiaries: UK0-brd Winford Estates and UAE's Frontstage Entertainment FZ-LLC.

Shah Rukh Khan's production house has secured and unsecured loans totalled ₹416 crore at the end of financial year 2023, up from 355 crore in the previous year. The unsecured loans were provided by the company's directors.
