KAMAL HAASAN’S INDIAN 2 IS WITNESSING SLOW GROWTH FOR ITS PREMIERE SHOWS IN USA

It is an interesting time for superstar Kamal Haasan, as on one side his last release Nag Ashwin’s Kalki is setting box office records from its premiere shows, but his upcoming film Indian 2 seems to be growing slowly in the United States of America for its premiere show.

The film, which is slated for 12th July in India, and for its premiere show, which is just 9 days away, the film has managed to sell nearly 3340 tickets from its 210 locations, generating a total sale value of US $ 81,775 ( Rs 68 lakh), showing a jump of only Rs 14 lakh in 3 days.

Indian 2 sees Kamal Haasan teaming up with Shankar once again, to step into the shoes of freedom fighter turned vigilante Senapathy, from their earlier collaboration Hindustani back in 1996. In the current part, he plays someone who is nearly 100 years old, and that requires a very tedious prosthetics process to get the right look. Kamal Haasan would spend nearly 4 hours on the make-up chair everyday to get into the look and another three hours to get out of the look for the film.

The film stars Siddharth, Kajal Agarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, and SJ Suryah in lead roles. While A. R. Rahman composed the music for the original, this time Shankar has enlisted Anirudh for the music. Following Indian 2, Shankar will be releasing Game Changer, featuring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani.
