BONEY KAPOOR’S FIRM TO SOON START WORK ON INTERNATIONAL FILM CITY NEAR NOIDA AIRPORT, SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH YEIDA

The construction activities for the much-awaited International Film City near Noida Airport are likely to commence soon on the ground as the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has signed a concession agreement of the project with Bollywood filmmaker Boney Kapoor’s firm Bayview Projects.

Officials said that with the signing of the concession agreement, the Bayview Projects LLP has also been handed over the allotted land parcel to start construction work for the first phase of the project. The first phase of the project will be built on 230 acres of land while the total area earmarked for the project is 1,000 acres.

In January 2024, a consortium led by Bayview Projects LLP and Bhutani Infra was awarded the contract by the Uttar Pradesh government to develop the Noida International Film City along the Yamuna Expressway that connects Greater Noida with the heritage cities of Mathura and Agra.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s ambitious International Film City will be developed in Sector 21 along the Yamuna Expressway near Noida International Airport. Bayview Projects will give an 18 percent revenue share to the Uttar Pradesh government after a moratorium period of eight years.

“The consortium led by filmmaker Boney Kapoor’s firm Bayview Projects LLP in association with Noida-based developer Bhutani Infra was awarded the contract through a global tender to develop the film city on January 30, 2024. They have signed a concession agreement with the YEIDA to undertake the project. The work on the project will commence soon,” YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh said.

Out of 230 acres of land, 155 acres will be dedicated for industrial use and the remaining 75 acres for commercial use. The total investment in the first phase of the film city is over Rs 1500 crore.

The International Film City will be developed by dividing it into seven zones in Sector-21 near Noida Airport and it is also likely to have a signature tower in the film city. According to the master plan of the film city, all the studios in the film city will run on solar systems that will be installed on the rooftops of the studios.
