MONSOON LIVE: IMD ISSUES YELLOW ALERT FOR MUMBAI-DELHI, ORANGE ALERT FOR 8 MAHARASHTRA DISTRICTS

New Delhi: Several parts of India including Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Assam have been experiencing heavy rain for the past few weeks.

Amid heavy showers everyday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the Maharashtra capital Mumbai. An orange alert has been issued for eight districts of Maharashtra.

The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for Delhi, predicting heavy rains till July 28, 2024.

The rains have caused severe waterlogging, affected traffic, delayed flights and also affected the local train services in Mumbai particularly.

The met dept has issued an orange alert for a total of eight districts of Maharashtra - Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Satara, Chandrapur, Gondia, and Gadchirol.
