INDIAN RAILWAYS ANNOUNCES CHANGE IN SCHEDULE FOR SEVERAL TRAINS, EXTENSIONS FOR OTHERS – CHECK COMPLETE LIST

Indian Railways on Tuesday announced extensions for several key train services and revised departure timings for express trains in a bid to enhance convenience for passengers.  These measures are part of the railways’ ongoing efforts to enhance travel options and accommodate the needs of passengers more effectively. Notably, South Eastern Railway and Northeast Frontier Railway have announced extensions for their services, while North Central Railway has implemented revisions in departure timings.

Extension of Train Services

South Eastern Railway has extended the operation of Train No. 02863/02864 Howrah-Yesvantpur-Howrah Superfast Weekly Express Special. Initially scheduled to run until June 27, 2024, the Howrah-Yesvantpur service (Train No. 02863) will now continue until July 25, 2024, with four additional trips. Similarly, the Yesvantpur-Howrah service (Train No. 02864), which was set to end on June 29, 2024, will operate until July 27, 2024, also for four additional trips. The trains will maintain their existing schedules, stops, and configurations.

Northeast Frontier Railway has similarly extended the run of Train No. 05952/05951 New Tinsukia-SMVT Bengaluru-New Tinsukia Weekly Express Special. The New Tinsukia-SMVT Bengaluru service (Train No. 05952), initially scheduled to end on June 27, 2024, will now run until October 31, 2024, adding 18 more trips. The SMVT Bengaluru-New Tinsukia service (Train No. 05951), initially scheduled to conclude on July 1, 2024, will now extend until November 4, 2024, also adding 18 trips. To accommodate increased demand, two additional General Second-class coaches will be attached to these trains.

Revision in Departure Timings

North Central Railway has announced a slight revision in departure timings for Train No. 12779/12780 Vasco Da Gama-Hazrat Nizamuddin-Vasco Da Gama Express at Mathura Junction, effective from July 5, 2024.

  • Train No. 12779 Vasco Da Gama-Hazrat Nizamuddin Express will now depart from Mathura Junction at 04:05 hrs instead of the previous 04:02 hrs.
  • Train No. 12780 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Vasco Da Gama Express will leave Mathura Junction at 16:50 hrs, three minutes later than its former departure time of 16:47 hrs.

These changes are part of Indian Railways’ continuous efforts to improve passenger services and accommodate the growing demand for rail travel across the country. Passengers are advised to check the updated schedules and plan their journeys accordingly.
