HEAVY RAINFALL SPELL LIKELY OVER NORTHWEST, EAST AND NORTHEAST INDIA - CHECK COMPLETE IMD FORECAST

New Delhi: Several parts of northwest India got some relief from scorching heat conditions. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy to very heavy rainfall spell is likely over northwest and East India and very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over northeast India during the next four to five days.

"Monsoon trough is near normal position at mean sea level and a cyclonic circulation lies over southeast Pakistan and a trough runs from southeast Pakistan to Bangladesh at lower tropospheric levels," the IMD said. Under the influence of this weather phenomenon, rainfall is predicted over northwest and central India.

Rainfall Warning Over Northwest And Central India:

  • "Isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad on 04th & 06th; Himachal Pradesh on 06th & 07th; Uttarakhand on 08th; Punjab on 04th, 06th & 07th; HaryanaChandigarh during 04th- 06th; Uttar Pradesh during 04th – 08th, West Rajasthan, Vidarbha on 04th; East Rajasthan on 05th & 06th; West Madhya Pradesh on 05th; East Madhya Pradesh on 04th & 05th; Chhattisgarh on 04th, 07th & 08th July," the IMD said.
  • Isolated very heavy rainfall is expected over Jammu Division on July 5, over Himachal Pradesh on July 4 and July 5, over Uttarakhand during till July 7. Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail over Punjab on July 5, over Uttar Pradesh on July 5 and 6 and over east Rajasthan ad west Madhya Pradesh on July 4.

Rainfall Warning Over East And Northeast India:

  • Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning is very likely over east and northeast India during the next five days.
  • "Isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Gangetic West Bengal on 04th; Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 04th & 05th; ; Jharkhand on 04th & 05th ; Odisha on 04th , 06th & 08th; Bihar during 06th -08th ; SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 07th& 08th and Assam & Meghalaya on 08th July," the MeT Department stated.
  • "Isolated very heavy rainfall likely over Bihar on 04th & 05th, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during 04th – 06th , Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 06th; Assam & Meghalaya on 06th & 07th and over Odisha on 07th July," it added.
  • Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on July 4 and 5.

Rainfall Warning Over South And West India:

  • "Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm & lightning very likely over Kerala & Mahe, Lakshadweep, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan & Goa, Gujarat State; scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Interior Karnataka; isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Rayalaseema, Telangana during next 5 days," the weather agency said.
  • "Isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Konkan & Goa on 07th & 08th, Gujarat Region on 05th, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal on 04th; Kerala & Mahe during 04th – 08th; Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana on 07th & 08th; Coastal Karnataka on 08th; South Interior Karnataka on 05th & 08th July," it added.
  • Isolated very heavy rainfall is also expected over Konkan and Goa till July 6, over Madhya Maharashtra till July 8, over Saurashtra and Kutch on July 4, over Coastal Karnataka during till July 7 and over South Interior Karnataka on July 4, July 6 and July 7.
