DELHI'S ROUSE AVENUE COURT GRANTS BAIL TO AAP MLA AMANATULLAH KHAN

Delhi Rouse Avenue court on Saturday granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan in the case registered on the complaint filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against him.

The court granted him bail on a personal bond of Rs 15,000 and one surety of like amount.

ED had recently moved a complaint against him for not appearing before the agency and not joining the probe in the case related to the alleged irregularities in appointment in Delhi Waqf Board and leasing of its properties.

On April 18, ED had arrested Khan after over nine hours of questioning. AAP leader Atishi took to microblogging X shortly after his detention to declare that the party will "continue to fight strongly against your (BJP's) dictatorship."

The money laundering case against Khan stems from a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) FIR and three Delhi Police complaints.

In a statement, the ED said that during Khan's tenure as the chairperson (2018–2022), the Waqf Board engaged in “illegal recruitment” of employees and made “illegal personal gains” through unfair leasing of the board’s properties.
