PM To Chair NITI Aayog Governing Council Meet On July 27

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair NITI Aayog's 9th Governing Council meeting on July 27, focusing on the 'Vikshit Bharat@2047' document aimed at making India a developed nation, a senior government official said on Friday.

The council, the apex body of NITI Aayog, consists of all state chief ministers, lieutenant governors of Union Territories, and several Union ministers, with Modi as the Chairman.

"NITI Aayog's Governing Council will meet on July 27," the official stated, PTI reported.

A vision document is being prepared to transform India into a developed economy worth USD 30 trillion by 2047, marking the 100th year of its independence.

In 2023, NITI Aayog was tasked with merging 10 sectoral thematic visions into a unified vision for Viksit Bharat @2047. This vision covers various development aspects, including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and good governance, among others.

Orange Rain Alert For 8 Maharashtra Districts; Yellow For Mumbai

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, and Satara districts in Maharashtra for Saturday, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, Mumbai experienced a lull in rain on Friday.

According to PTI, after nearly two days of intense rainfall, Mumbai remained mostly dry, and the IMD has issued a yellow alert for the city and nearby Thane district for Saturday, forecasting heavy showers in isolated areas.

Additionally, the IMD has issued an orange alert for Chandrapur, Gondia, and Gadchiroli districts, indicating the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated locations.

No orange alerts have been issued for any district in Maharashtra from July 28 to 30, according to the IMD.
