If you're a gamer or follow gaming news, you've probably heard about the highly anticipated game, GTA VI, set to release next year. Rockstar Games announced in their first trailer that the game will launch in 2025. More recently, the company came up with a more definitive launch timeline and said that the game would launch in "Fall 2025." Now, since Fall season begins around September, it is safe to assume that we are still more than a year away from the launch of the game. Nevertheless, rumours about GTA VI are spreading quickly. Let us take a look at all that we know so far.

Launching on PlayStation/XBox first

It is being said that Xbox and PlayStation players will get to play GTA VI before PC players, as the game might launch on consoles first and then on PC. However, not all PlayStation owners might be able to play the game as soon as it launches.

As per video journalist Stephen Totilo, Sony recently shared that PlayStation boasts 118 million monthly active users, with half of them still using the PS4. Since GTA VI is rumoured to be exclusively available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the anticipated PS5 Pro, half of PlayStation owners still on the PS4 might not get to play the game at all. These players might need to upgrade their consoles or miss out on playing the new game.

Larger map and mini games

The GTA VI map is rumoured to be the biggest one in Rockstar Games' history, even larger than Red Dead Redemption 2's map. A Reddit user compiled a list of potential locations in the game, suggesting it will cover parts of Florida and Georgia. But again, Rockstar Games hasn't confirmed these details. Other Reddit users have claimed that GTA VI will have the most mini-games in the series, including a new fishing mini-game.

Characters and setting

From the first trailer of the game, it was clear that GTA VI will feature a female protagonist named Lucia, marking the first time that a central female character is included in the franchise. There will also be a male character, rumoured to be named Jason. The addition of characters like Stefani, a prison counsellor, and a mysterious, joker-like figure also promises to enhance players' experience.

Talking about the setting, the game will take us back to Vice City, with locations in the trailer looking similar to those in the 2002 release. We saw sunsets, beaches, and yachts, bringing back memories of playing as Tommy Vercetti in GTA Vice City.

Rumoured price

Although the exact pricing of the game hasn't been revealed yet, there's speculation that GTA VI could be more expensive than previous titles, possibly exceeding USD 59.99 (Rs 4,993). With the release date drawing nearer, fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting the next instalment in the beloved GTA series.
