NAYANTHARA SAYS PLAYING EMPOWERED WOMEN ON SCREEN IS NOT JUST A ‘CREATIVE CHOICE’ BUT ALSO A ‘PERSONAL COMMITMENT’

Superstar Nayanthara is undoubtedly one of the most influential women in Indian cinema. She is one fo the rare breed of female actors in the entertainment industry who can call the shots. She recently made it to GQ's Most Influential Young Indians of 2024 list.

Nayanthara, who is known for telling the stories of empowered women, recently stated that it is not just a creative process, but also a personal commitment. “Portraying empowered women who choose to defy social stigmas is not just a creative choice, but also a personal commitment to amplifying voices that are often overlooked or silenced,” she told GQ, when asked about playing the lead role in 'Annapoorani'.

One of the highest paid actresses in South cinema, Nayanthara is also a successful entrepreneur. She has invested in several ventures including skincare, sanitary pads, beverages among others.

Meanwhile, Nayanthara too made a dashing appearance on the red carpet of GQ. She wore a black gown with a plunging neckline for the event held in Mumbai on Thursday, April 25. She skipped the earrings, instead wore a chic pair of ear cuffs and went for a clean side parted hairlook. Nayanthara surely made heads turn and the pictures and videos from the event, are taking the internet by storm.

On the work front, Nayanthara will be next seen in ‘Test’, a Tamil movie, in which she will essay the lead role opposite R Madhavan.
