WhatsApp is one of the most widely used instant messaging apps worldwide. The Meta-owned app has over 2 billion users globally. In a latest, WhatsApp has revised its minimum device requirement, impacting users who have older devices.
A report by CanalTech says that 35 smartphones – both Android and iPhones, will stop receiving WhatsApp updates this year. The list includes handsets from brands including Samsung, Apple, Sony, LG and others. Here are the names of all smartphones that will stop supporting WhatsApp
At present, WhatsApp recommends using the app if you have a device with Android 5.0 (or later) or an iPhone with iOS 12 (or later). Using an outdated device for WhatsApp compromises both functionality and security, It also restricts access to newer features and exposes users to potential vulnerabilities. Therefore, it is advisable to upgrade your smartphone to keep using WhatsApp safely.
