If rumours are to be believed, Google is gearing up to unveil not two, but three new Pixel smartphones at their annual fall showcase. The Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL could all make their debut.

The leaks are already starting to trickle in. After leaked renders, some hands-on live images have surfaced of the Pixel 9 Pro courtesy of Russian publication Rozetked, giving us an early peek at the upcoming flagship. A couple of them even puts the phone side-by-side with the iPhone 15 Pro Max for a size comparison.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL is rumored to be the true successor to last year's Pixel 8 Pro in terms of dimensions. The regular Pixel 9 Pro, on the other hand, should be more akin to the vanilla Pixel 9 – just packing some extra pro-grade goodies like that fancy periscope telephoto camera visible in the leaked shots.

Design-wise, these images suggest Google is moving away from that signature "visor" camera bump in favor of a sleeker oval-shaped module. The polished metal frame also appears to be going flat this time around – a departure from recent curved edges. Time will tell if that impacts grip and in-hand feel.

Speaking of specs, the Pixel 9 Pro is expected to be powered by Google’s Tensor G4 chip, a massive 16GB of Micron RAM (up 4GB from its predecessor), Samsung UFS storage, and even satellite connectivity.

With the Pixel 9 Pro XL set to take over max-sized duties, it'll be interesting to see how Google differentiates the Pro and non-Pro models in terms of overall footprint.
