MOTOROLA UNVEILS EDGE 50 SERIES AND TWO NEW WIRELESS EARBUDS

Motorola has officially unveiled the Edge 50 series, which consists of the Edge 50 Fusion, Edge 50 Pro and the Edge 50 Ultra. While the phone maker had already launched Edge 50 Pro in India a few days ago, there is no information if and when the other two models will be available in the country. The company also announced two new wireless earbuds - Motorola Buds and Motorola Buds+ in partnership with the known audio giant Bose.

Motorola Edge 50 Fusion

Featuring the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion has a 6.7-inch FullHD+ pOLED screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz. The most affordable phone in the series comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Similar to other recently launched phones, it runs on a slightly modified version of Android 14 dubbed Hello UI.

The back of the phone houses a 50MP primary camera alongside a 13MP ultrawide lens, whereas the front of the phone packs a 32MP selfie shooter. All of this is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that offers up to 68W fast charging. It starts from EUR 399, which roughly translates to Rs 35,900.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro

Motorola first launched the Edge 50 Pro (review) earlier this month as an India-exclusive device, but the phone is now available in other parts of the world as well. Powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, it sports a 6.7-inch 144Hz pOLED screen that can go up to 2,000 nits.

While the battery is the same as the Edge 50 Fusion (5,000mAh), Motorola has bumped up the charging speed to 125W, making it one of the fastest-charging phones to date. It also supports 50W wireless charging.

On the back, you get a triple camera setup that consists of a 50MP primary sensor alongside a 13MP ultrawide shooter and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It is available on Flipkart and starts from Rs 31,999.

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra

Similar to other phones in the series, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra has a 6.7-inch FullHD+ pOLED screen with a peak brightness of 2,500 nits. As announced before, the phone is powered by the recently launched Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset paired with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.

It has a triple camera setup with a 50MP primary camera, 50MP ultrawide sensor and a 64MP telephoto lens with up to 3x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, you get a 50MP front camera. The device packs a slightly smaller 4,500mAh battery that supports 125W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The base variant of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra costs EUR 999 (approx. Rs 88,900).

Motorola Buds and Buds+

Developed in partnership with Bose, Motorola also unveiled two new wireless earbuds - Buds and Buds+. The Moto Buds+ has Bose-tuned dual dynamic drivers along with active noise cancellation (ANC) and EQ tuning.

Motorola says the Buds+ are also compatible with Dolby's Head Tracking technology and also support Dolby Atmos. It comes with two triple mic systems that offer clear audio and improved ambient noise suppression and echo cancellation. The company says the earbuds also support CrystalTalk AI, which helps reduce wind noise. On the other hand, the regular Motorola Buds feature 12.4mm dynamic drivers and also support CrystalTalk AI. They also offer active noise cancellation (ANC). The wireless earbuds can last up to 9 hours on a single charge. However, Motorola hasn't clarified how much battery the case offers. The Motorola Buds+ cost $130 (approx. Rs 10,875) whereas the regular Buds are priced at $68 (approx. Rs 5,688)
