APPLE LET LOOSE EVENT: IPAD PRO WITH OLED DISPLAY, M4 CHIPSET AND EVERYTHING EXPECTED SO FAR

Apple is set to bring major changes in its iPad lineup at the Let Loose event set to be held on 7 am Pacific Time (7:30 pm India time). During the online event, CEO Tim Cook is likely to announce new iPad Air and Pro models along with a upgrades to the Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard.

Notably, the Let Loose event is remarkably different from the Worldwide Developer Conference which will be next month, given that it will be concerned mostly with the new iPad announcements while WWDC could witness Apple announcing new software updates to iPhones, iPads, Mac's and more.

Here's everything we know about the possible annoucements at the Let Loose event:

1) iPad Air with 12.9 inch screen:

It has been long speculated that Apple will finally start offering a larger 12.9-inch variant of the iPad Air, providing users with a larger display hitherto reserved for the pro lineup. Reports suggest that Apple could offer iPad Air lineup in two sizes: 12.9 inch and 10.9 inch.

Meanwhile, Apple isn't expected to make any significant changes with the display technology on the iPad Air lineup and the tablet is expected to feature the same LCD display found on the earlier iterations just with a bigger size. In comparison, the iPad Pro lineup hitherto featured a mini-LED display and may even get upgraded with an OLED panel this year.

In terms of processing power, the iPad Air is likely to get an upgrade compared to the current generation and could be powered by Apple's M2 chipset. Moreover, while Apple is planning to launch a new Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil (3rd generation) at the Let Loose event, it isn't yet clear if these accesories will support the iPad Air lineup or be reserved for the Pro models.

2) OLED iPad Pro with M4 chipsets:

According to a recent report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurnman, Apple is likely to upgrade the iPad Pro lineup with the OLED display technology which has been a staple amongst the iPhones since 2017. The addition of OLED display is expected to result in better image quality along with reduction in bezels and lead to an overall thinner tablet. The iPad Pro 12.9 inch variant could be around 20% slimmer than its predecessor while the 11 inch variant may be skimmed by 15%.

Moreover, the latest leak by Gurnman suggests that Apple will include its first ever M4 chipset with the iPad Pro lineup. The addition of M4 chipset is likely to help power some of the heavy duty artificial intelligence tasks on the Apple tablet which is likely to better explained at the WWDC event in June.

In some rather unpleasant news for the customers, latest reports suggest that Apple could also increase the prices for the iPad Pro lineup. A report by 9to5Mac suggests that Apple could raise the prices of its premium tablets by up to $100.

3) Update to Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil:

Apple is likely to introduce Apple Pencil (3rd Generation) and a new iteration of its Magic Keyboard at the Let Loose event on Tuesday.

As per Gurnman, the Apple Pencil will be among the highlights of the Let Loose event, which isn't a surprise given that Apple had already depicted a Pencil in its logo for the event. The new generation Apple Pencil is liekly to get support for haptic feedback, Find My and a new ‘squeeze’ gestrure to control certain tasks.

Meanwhile, the next generation Magic Keyboard is expected to feature a more aluminium base which could provide the iPad's a look similar to a laptop. the new keyboard could also come with a larger trackpad.
