APPLE LET LOOSE EVENT: FROM OLED DISPLAY TO M4 CHIPSET, EVERYTHING EXPECTED FROM THE UPCOMING IPAD PRO

Apple is all set to bring major revamps to its iPad lineup, with the iPad during the Let Loose Event, which will be held from 7 am Pacific Time today (7:30 pm India time). During the event, Apple is likely to introduce its first ever M4 chipset along with the Ipad Pro while the iPad Air is also likely to get a bigger 12.9 inch screen.

Here's a look at all the expected features of iPad Pro:

1) M4 Chipset:

A recent report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurnman has revealed that Apple could introduce its latest M4 chipset with the iPad Pro lineup this year. Reportedly, Apple could utilize the M4's processing power to run heavy duty artificial intelligence tools on the tablet. Gurnman states that Apple is expected to give a better glimpse at these AI features at the WWDC event in June where the latest iteration of iPadOS and iOS will be announced.

2) OLED display:

Apple is likely to finally offer its iPad Pro lineup with an OLED screen, something that has been a staple with the iPhone series since 2017. The OLED panel is likely to come with support for LTPO and 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate.

The addition of OLED panel of the iPad Pro series is likely to result in better contrast ratio, punchier colours and faster refresh rate.

3) Slimmer iPads:

Another major impact of the OLED panel on the iPad Pro series is a reduction in thickness and bezels on the iPad Pro. The latest Apple tablet is expected to be available in two variants: 11 inch and 12.9 inch.

Reports suggest that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro could be slimmer by around 20 per cent while the 11-inch iPad Pro could get around 15 per cent reduction in thickness size.

Apple is also expected to bring a change in the selfie camera position on the iPad Pro, shifting it from the top of the device to the sides. The new change would mean that the front-facing camera will be upright when the tablet is in landscape mode.

4) Price Hike:

While the exact quantum of the price hike isn't yet confirmed, many reputed sources have revealed that the plethora of changes are likely to result in Apple hiking the price of the iPad Pro lineup. An earlier report by DigiTimes had predicted an around $160 price hike for the iPad Pro series while a recent 9to5Mac report suggested that upcoming tablets could be pricier by around $100.
