NCT'S RENJUN TAKES TEMPORARY BREAK FOR HEALTH REASONS; WITHDRAWS FROM SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES INCLUDING 'THE DREAM SHOW 3' CONCERT

NCT’s Renjun is set to take a temporary hiatus from all activities due to concerns about his health. The announcement came suddenly last week from SM Entertainment, the agency representing NCT DREAM, indicating that Renjun would be stepping back from several scheduled engagements due to what was described as a "worsening of his physical health".

Further details emerged on April 20 when SM Entertainment released another statement, revealing that Renjun had consulted a doctor regarding his health, which included symptoms of anxiety. Following medical advice for "plenty of rest and stability", Renjun made the decision, in agreement with the agency, to prioritize his treatment and recovery over his professional commitments.

As a result, Renjun will be absent from all scheduled activities starting from the fan signing event slated for April 20. This includes his participation in NCT DREAM’s upcoming concert series, ‘THE DREAM SHOW 3: DREAM( )SCAPE’, scheduled to take place in Seoul from May 2 to 4. The complete statement from SM Entertainment, as reported by Soompi, reads as follows:

“Hello. We are making an announcement regarding member Renjun’s activities. Due to a recent worsening of his physical health and symptoms of anxiety, Renjun visited the hospital, and based on the results of his examination, he was advised by a doctor that he needs plenty of rest and stability.

We deemed our artist’s health our top priority, and after careful discussion with Renjun, we decided that he would focus on his treatment and recovery. Therefore, Renjun will not be participating in his scheduled activities starting from the fan signing event scheduled for today (April 20), and we will make another announcement in the future when he is able to resume his activities.

NCT DREAM’s third concert “THE DREAM SHOW 3 : DREAM( )SCAPE,” which will take place from May 2 to 4, will be held with the six remaining members: Mark, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung. Therefore, we ask for fans’ generous understanding. We would like to apologize for giving fans cause for concern. We will do our utmost so that Renjun can be together with the fans in good health.

Additionally, we are consistently checking for malicious posts, including hateful slander, sexual harassment, false rumors, insults, and defamation of character, about not only Renjun but all of our artists, and we are currently in the process of filing lawsuits [against those responsible]. We plan to hold the culprits legally responsible, with no settlements or leniency, and we will make efforts to protect our artists’ rights. Thank you”.
