VIJAY'S 'GOAT' DETHRONES RAJINIKANTH'S 'JAILER' TO SET A NEW RECORD FOR A TAMIL FILM IN MALAYSIA

Vijay's 'GOAT' made its theatrical debut on September 5, releasing in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. After a record-breaking start, the film has maintained a strong performance in theaters, earning solid numbers across various locations. According to Cinetrak, 'GOAT' has now set a new record for a Tamil film in Malaysia, grossing MYR 14.30 million in just 14 days at the Malaysian box office, marking the end of its second week on a high note. Vijay's latest release has surpassed Rajinikanth's 'Jailer', which had grossed MYR 14.18 million during its entire theatrical run. 'GOAT' overtaking Rajinikanth's film within two weeks demonstrates Vijay's box office dominance, and fans are celebrating this achievement on social media.

'GOAT' has grossed over Rs 420 crore in 14 days and has successfully entered its third week, retaining a significant number of screens despite facing competition from several new releases. The film is now positioned to enter the top five highest-grossing Tamil films of all time, currently ranking sixth behind '2.O', 'Jailer', 'Leo', 'Ponniyin Selvan 1', and 'Vikram'.

In 'GOAT', Vijay plays dual roles as both father and son. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film features an ensemble cast including Sneha, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, and Premgi Amaren in pivotal roles. The music, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, marks a reunion with Vijay after two decades, and it has contributed significantly to the film's success.
