RELEASE DATE CANNOT BE ANNOUNCED TO PLEASE SOME AND THEN SUFFER, SAYS PRODUCER DHANANJAYAN

Dhananjayan,one of the producers with the popular production house Studio Green, which is producing both actor Suriya's period film Kanguva and actor Vikram's film Thangalaan, has asked those indulging in trolling and those putting out posts urging for updates on their favourite films to chill and wait for an official announcement and not advise or criticise.

Irked by constant trolling and posts seeking updates on Thangalaan and Kanguva, Dhananjayan recently took to platform X to explain the state of affairs.

He wrote, "I see a lot of posts & trolls regularly on the release date announcement of #Kanguva & #Thangalaan tagging me. Guys, chill. We understand your enthusiasm but a Producer, who invested hundreds of crores knows when to release his films, to maximise revenues and minimise the risk.

"Release date cannot be announced to please some and then suffer. It has to be based on economics and opportunity of a good date. So please stop advising, criticising & commenting. Do support us when we announce & until then please chill and wait for official announcement, than indulging in unnecessary trolls🙏"

About Kanguva

Set to hit screens this year in standard, 3D, and IMAX formats across more than 10 languages, Kanguva, which features actor Suriya in the lead and which is being directed by Siva, promises a cinematic spectacle like never before.

Director Siva has already disclosed that the story of the film is a fictional one and that it is not based on real incidents.

Set in Tamil Nadu almost 1650 years ago, the plot of Kanguva, sources say, has developments that take place in at least two different time periods.

Director Siva has disclosed that had always wanted to do this sort of an action, period film but that he had chosen to wait until now.

The film boasts of a stellar star cast including Suriya, Disha Patani, Bobby Deol, Natty Natraj, and Yogi Babu. With music by Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy, and editing by Nishadh Yusuf, Kanguva aims to captivate audiences with its grandeur and storytelling prowess.

About Thangalaan

The other film for which fans have been constantly demanding updates is director Pa Ranjith's Thangalaan, featuring actor Vikram in the lead. On an earlier occasion, Ranjith had observed that Thangalaan was a vision to present a historical adventure story based on true events, backed by phenomenal effort from Vikram and the entire team. Thangalaan stars ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram in the lead and has Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathi, and Harikrishnan Anbudurai in pivotal roles. Music for the film is by G.V. Prakash Kumar.

Set against the backdrop of the historic Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) in the early 1900’s, Thangalaan is poised to captivate audiences with its compelling narrative from real-life events. It is a historical adventure that narrates the erased role of oppressed communities in the exploration of gold in South of India.
