PRASHANTH'S ANDHAGAN GETS A NEW RELEASE WINDOW

The makers of the long-delayed Tamil film Andhagan, starring Prashanth and Simran in lead roles, took to their social media recently to announce a release window for the film. According to the official post, the film is now slated to release in August. The announcement was accompanied by the release of a new poster featuring Prashanth's character prominently in a profile shot.

A Remake Film

Andhagan is the Tamil remake of the Sriram Raghavan directorial Andhadhun (2018), which starred Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu in lead roles. The Tamil remake has Prashanth and Simran taking over the two lead roles. Priya Anand is playing the character that was originally done by Radhika Apte.

More About Andhagan

Andhagan has been directed by Prashanth’s father and director Thiagarajan and produced under the Staar Movies banner. The film also stars Karthik, Samuthirakani, Urvashi, Yogi Babu and Vanitha Vijayakumar, among others. The technical crew of the film includes cinematographer Ravi Yadav, editor Sathish Suriya, and music composer Santhosh Narayanan.

Andhadhun was also remade in Telugu as Maestro starring Nithiin, Tamannaah, and Nabha Natesh. In Malayalam, it was titled Bhramam with Prithviraj Sukumaran as the lead.

The film has been facing multiple delays, and now fans can rejoice as the release window announcement has garnered much excitement even though an exact release date for the film's release is yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Prashanth is playing an important role in Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film The GOAT, directed by Venkat Prabhu, and was featured prominently in the film's ongoing promotions.
