PAWAN KALYAN BREAKS SILENCE ON DOING FILMS AFTER BECOMING DEPUTY CHIEF MINISTER

Pawan Kalyan organised a special public meeting in Pithapuram on Wednesday. He addressed his fans' concerns about his next film at the same event. Pawan, who is now serving as the 10th Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, told his fans that they will have to wait for his films since his first responsibility is towards the people of the country.

The actor-turned-politician thanked his fans and promised his comeback on the big screen. The moment he entered the place, several fans began chanting 'OG', the title of his anticipated film. "'OG'? Do you think I'll have the time to make films?" he asked the fans.

The new Deputy CM of the state told them that the needs of his people are paramount to him right now. Pawan said he will first invest his energies into making his constituency better and will then move to shooting films. "I made a promise. First, I want to concentrate on making this constituency better. No one should fault me for at least not filling potholes or building new roads. 'OG'chestava, kya ji, ante mari em cheppanu? (What will I do if someone questions why I'm busy shooting for 'OG' instead?)" he told the fans.

The popular Telugu star, however, gave hope to the fans. He said he has requested time from his directors and he will continue to perform his acting duties but only when he has time. "With that fear in my heart, I even told my filmmakers -- you must forgive me, but I need to concentrate on serving people first. I will shoot films only when I find the time for it," he explained.

Pawan left his ardent fans on a happy note, confirming to them that he would return to the movies and 'OG' would be a film worth watching. He said in Telugu, "OG chudduru gaani, bauntundi [You'll indeed watch OG, it'll be good]."

Pawan has worked across various film industries in his career spanning 28 years. In 2014, he founded his political party called 'Jana Sena Party' in Andhra Pradesh. He distanced himself from the movies and started concentrating on his political journey. Earlier this year, he created history as his party won all the 21 assembly seats it contested, strengthening his position as the Deputy CM in the state.

The actor has announced three films that are yet to hit the screens. Some of them are, in fact, yet to complete the shoot. This includes Hari Shankar's 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' which is a Telugu remake of the Tamil film 'Theri', originally starring Thalapathy Vijay. The fans are, however, most excited about 'OG', which was earlier slated to hit the screens on September 27, but the new release date is yet to be announced. Another film in his pipeline is 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1-Sword vs Spirit'.
