MUSIC COMPOSER MM KEERAVANI SHARES AN UPDATE ON SS RAJAMOULI AND MAHESH BABU'S 'SSMB 29'

Director SS Rajamouli and actor Mahesh Babu are teaming up for their much-anticipated project, currently known as 'SSMB 29'. Recently, music composer MM Keeravani, a long-time collaborator with Rajamouli, provided an update on the film's progress.

During an interview with News18, the "Naatu Naatu" composer revealed that Rajamouli is still finalizing the film’s script. He mentioned that he hasn't started working on the music yet because the story is just being locked this week. Additionally, some test shoots are currently underway to finalise the film's visual style.

Earlier this year, Rajamouli’s father and the film’s scriptwriter, Vijayendra Prasad, indicated that the script was finalized. This has led to speculation that the film's production might begin soon. Mahesh Babu, who plays the lead role, has undergone rigorous training to transform his physique. During his public appearances, he is also seen to be keeping long hair for the role. Reports suggest that his character is inspired by the Hindu mythological figure, Lord Hanuman.

The film is expected to be a jungle thriller, although the makers have kept details about the cast and plot under wraps. The movie is slated for release in 2027.

In the same interview, MM Keeravani also spoke about his Oscar-winning song “Naatu Naatu” from the blockbuster 'RRR'. He noted that no one has requested a song similar to “Naatu Naatu” for their films yet. He explained that the song was unique to 'RRR' and was made specifically for a particular situation within the movie.
