MANJU WARRIER FILM FOOTAGE GETS A RELEASE DATE!
The makers of Malayalam actor Manju Warrier's upcoming film Footage took to their social media on July 5, Friday, to release a brand new poster for the upcoming film along with announcing the official release date for the film. According to the makers, the film, touted to be Malayalam's first ever 'Found Footage Film' will hit theatres on August 2. The poster was shared by Manju Warrier on her social media handles with the caption, "Lost Tapes. Untold Truths. FOOTAGE in theaters this August 2nd!"
A Cryptic Teaser
On May 27, Manju Warrier had released a series of pictures on her Instagram where she was seen interacting with the cast and crew of Footage. The actor posted the pictures on her Instagram stories with the caption, "Behind every door is a world beyond your imagination... Footage. Coming Soon... #footagemalayalammovie (sic)"
In the pictures, one can see the actor with her main co-stars Vishakh Nair and Gayathri Ashok, along with the crew. Gayathri Ashok shared the pictures on her Instagram handle with the caption "*pinching myself* A dream come true to work with the superstar.

Footage, The Film
Footage will be Malayalam cinema’s first ‘found-footage’ movie, which makes use of videos recorded by the characters and used as 'found' material to narrate a story. A popular example of this is the Hollywood classic The Blair Witch Project, and the first part of the Ragini MMS series of shorts. Footage also marks popular film editor Saiju Sreedharan's debut as a filmmaker. Saiju is best known for his work in Kumbalangi Nights, Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25, and Anjaam Pathiraa, among others.
A First Look poster of the film was released in February 2024, and created quite a lot of frenzy online because of its sexually suggestive nature, and many confused Gayathri Ashok, who appeared in the poster embracing Vishakh Nair, to be Manju Warrier.
