Indian 2 has received a UA certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), making the film accessible for all age groups. However, changes were implemented by the makers to get the certification, which includes the replacement of seven Tamil and English expletives.
Apart from replacing many words, the censor board has directed the makers to blur body exposure in a scene. It has also asked the makers to make the smoking disclaimers more visible than it was before. With all the changes made, the film is now all set to be released on July 12 in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu across India.
Here are the changes made by the makers:
The runtime of Indian 2 will be 180 minutes, which implies the film will be about 3.5 hours, including the interval. The film is as long as the first part, Indian (1996), which was 3.5 hours long.
Directed by Shankar, Indian 2 has Kamal Haasan returning as the ageing vigilante Senapathy, an anti-corruption crusader, who resorts to violence to punish miscreants. Other than Kamal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, Vivek, Bobby Simha, and Priya Bhavani Shankar play important roles in the film. Produced by Lyca Productions, Indian 2 will have a sequel, which will be released six months later. Kamal, in a promotional event, said that he likes Indian 3 more than Indian 2 and revealed he did the second part only because he liked the third.
