BIGG BOSS TAMIL FAME RAJU DEBUTS AS A LEADING MAN IN FILM ABOUT GEN Z

Bigg Boss Tamil Season 5 title winner Raju Jeyamohan is all set to star in his first film as a hero. The film, titled Bun Butter Jam, will address a serious issue from a Gen Z perspective with quirkiness and wackiness, informs its director Raghav Mirdath.

Elaborating on the film’s plot, he shares, “The burden of the past will weigh us down and not knowing what’s going to happen in the future will make us anxious. The basic philosophy of the film is to not worry about either and to live in the moment.” He adds that even though there are two female leads in the film — Aadhiya Prasad and Bhavya Trikha — it isn’t a romcom.

The filmmaker is also all praise for the Tamil audience, saying, “These days, films that are not made in a regular pattern are becoming big blockbusters. This gives us the courage to experiment with writing. The audience has been exposed to all kinds of films because of OTT. If the film is engaging, they celebrate it regardless of whether it is small or big.”

He says his film will be an intense one with a sense of humour and cites the 1968 film Ethir Neechal , starring Nagesh, as an example of this kind of movie. “Sivakarthikeyan’s Ethir Neechal is also a good example because it presents a serious issue in a lighthearted way similar to the old film,” he adds.
