KESHAV SURI FOUNDATION AND FARAZ ARIF ANSARI PROMOTE INCLUSIVITY IN ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY WITH AN ACTING WORKSHOP

The Keshav Suri Foundation, alongside Bollywood Director Faraz Arif Ansari, promotes inclusivity and empowerment in the entertainment industry. They recently organised TRANSaction 3.0, a free acting workshop for transgender and queer individuals, followed by a screening of Sheer Qorma, a film directed by Faraz Arif Ansari.

TRANSaction 3.0 aimed to empower participants to explore acting and entertainment opportunities. Led by Faraz Arif Ansari, the workshop covered various industry aspects like entrepreneurship, acting, fashion, branding, marketing, and dance. With over 50 participants, it provided valuable learning and healing experiences.

Keshav Suri, Founder of the Keshav Suri Foundation, expressed delight in collaborating with Faraz Arif Ansari to provide a platform for LGBTQIA+ community members to develop acting skills and enter mainstream cinema. He emphasized the importance of representation in shaping diverse narratives.

Faraz Arif Ansari shared his motivation behind TRANSaction, aiming to support LGBTQIA+ individuals in pursuing acting careers and sharing their stories. "I wanted queer people to share their own narratives and experiences in their own voices. TRANSaction was born out of the idea to support and assist LGBTQIA+ individuals in taking that first step into the foray of acting and the entertainment industry. I am grateful to all our collaborators who have ensured successful. TRANSaction is more than just acting workshops, they are collective healing for all, including allies who participate with us as mentors," said Faraz.

The event culminated with the screening of Sheer Qorma on April 6, 2024, exploring themes of belonging and love among lesbian and non-binary individuals. A discussion with Faraz Arif Ansari and actor Swara Bhaskar delved into the film's themes, emphasising the importance of mainstreaming LGBTQIA+ narratives.

The Keshav Suri Foundation believes events like TRANSaction and screenings of films like Sheer Qorma promote inclusivity and representation in mainstream media, serving as catalysts for positive change. They ensure LGBTQ+ voices are heard and celebrated globally.
