RANA DAGGUPATI CALLS 'VETTAIYAN' 'UNUSUAL', SAYS 'KALKI IS OUR AVENGERS MOMENT'

Rana Daggubati, who is a part of Rajinikanth's 'Vettaiyan', has called the film's story 'unusual'. The actor also spoke about his 'dear friend', Nag Ashwin's magnum opus, 'Kalki'. He said that the film is our own 'Avengers moment'.

Rana Daggubati has 10 days of work left in Rajinikanth's 'Vettaiyan'. He spoke about the film and its unusual story. In a podcast with Vamshi Kurapati, Daggubati said, "The story [of Vettaiyan] is very unlike a usual Rajinikanth garu's film. It is amazing that he is doing a film like that. The film has a very large cast, Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil. It's a drama which involves the judiciary, police, and entrepreneurial systems. It's a very well-researched story. I am very happy that Rajinikanth chose the film and I could be a part of it."

Rana Daggubati has also been seen in Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki' promotional events. Though he isn't a part of the film, but he feels that the upcoming sci-fi movie is our 'own Avengers moment'. "The next big moment is Kalki. Nag Ashwin is a very dear friend. Not just India and the Indian diaspora but everyone in the world will connect to Kalki. For a long time, I have been waiting for an Avengers moment from our side. That's what has excited me to be part of it," said the 'Baahubali' actor.

Rana Daggubati played Bhallaladev in 'Baahubali' films. At India Today Conclave South 2023, the actor praised filmmaker SS Rajamouli but said that the film didn't change their careers. "Most credit will go to the visionary who built it (Baahubali) that is Rajamouli because unless you have someone daring to put all these together, things don't move. And it's only that one story that pushes the boundaries of cinema completely. Bahubali didn't change our careers but it changed the way we look at cinema is seen in India. The scale of the country really came out. Storytelling at basic core and scale all came together. It set us on a path to dream big. I am happy it finally got here because I wanted it to happen many years ago."

Rana Daggubati was last seen in 'Spy' in 2023.
