KANNADA FILM KENDA PREMIERES IN NEW YORK

The Kannada film industry is making waves internationally with the premiere of Kenda, directed by Sahdev Kelavadi and produced by Roopa Rao.

Premiered In New York, Switzerland

The film recently had its premiere at the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts in New York, an institution known for training legendary directors like Martin Scorsese, Ang Lee, Jim Jarmusch, Spike Lee, and the Coen Brothers. This milestone marks Kenda as the first Kannada film to be screened at Tisch.

In addition to its New York premiere, Kenda also had a screening in Switzerland, further boosting its international recognition. The film, which has already been showcased at several esteemed film festivals, is now gearing up for its release in Karnataka.

Produced under the Ameyukti Studios banner by Roopa Rao, Kenda features music by Rithvik Kaykini and compositions by Pradeep Naik, with art direction by Laxmikant Joshi. The film tells the compelling story of an ordinary boy ensnared by the system, reflecting a poignant narrative that resonates widely.

The cast of Kenda includes BV Bharath, Pranav Sridhar, Vinod Sushil, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Sachin Srinath, Bindu Rakshidi, Sarath Gowda, Satish Kumar, Archana Shyam, Prithvi Banavasi, and Deepti Nagendra, among others.

Sahdev Kelvadi, known for his work as the cinematographer of Gantumoote, has taken on both directing and cinematography roles for Kenda. The film is set to be released by Killjoy Films, an international film production company.

As the film industry in Karnataka eagerly awaits the release of Kenda, its international premieres signal a promising reception and highlight the growing global reach of Kannada cinema.
