KALKI 2898 AD BEATS HANUMAN TO BECOME THE FIRST FILM OF 2024 TO CROSS 20 MILLION FOOTFALLS ACROSS INDIA

Kalki 2898 AD is on a record breaking spree and there's nothing stopping to stop its momentum! The film scored a whopping opening of Rs 95.3 crore and went on to clock Rs 309 crore at the end of its extended four-day weekend.

While the film continues to disrupt figures at the box office, Kalki 2898 AD has set yet another record for 2024. The film has surpassed 20 million (2 crore) footfalls across India in all languages, emerging as the first Indian film this year to achieve this milestone, reports Sacnilk. With this record, Kalki 2898 AD has beat the footfalls of Hanuman, which released in January this year.

Kalki 2898 AD, which released on June 27, saw approximately 2.02 crore footfalls within just six days across all versions. The Telugu version leads the race, with nearly 1 crore admissions, followed by Hindi with 75 lakh, and the remaining versions totaling a sale of around 28 lakh tickets. While Kalki 2898 AD has taken the top spot in the 2024 table, it is followed by Hanuman with 1.44 crore footfalls, Fighter with 1.17 crore footfalls and Manjummal Boys with 1.16 crore footfalls. Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD has hit 600 crore gross at the global box office and is expected to cross 1000 crore in the coming days.

Inspired from Hindu scriptures, this futuristic drama stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Recently, 'Jawan' director Atlee saw the movie and penned a glowing review on social media, "Kalki was absolutely blown away by Ashwin’s incredible filmmaking and the high quality of the film.
