BYEON WOO SEOK’S SECURITY TEAM FACES LAWSUIT FROM INCHEON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR OVER-THE-TOP MEASURES

Byeon Woo Seok, who recently captured the spotlight with his role in the popular show ‘Lovely Runner’, is now embroiled in a controversy involving his security team. Allegations have emerged suggesting that the actor’s bodyguards have adopted overly aggressive security measures, raising concerns about potential infringements on public rights. This controversy has escalated to the point where Byeon Woo Seok has decided to sever ties with the security company responsible.

On July 25, 2024, Incheon International Airport Corporation took legal action, filing a lawsuit against the security firm for what it describes as "excessive security" measures. The complaint was lodged around 5 PM, as reported by officials from the airport and the Incheon Airport Police Division.

The incident in question occurred when the actor’s security team was spotted using a flashlight to deter fans trying to photograph Byeon Woo Seok at the airport. This action, which occurred in the presence of ordinary travelers, was deemed overly harsh and insensitive. Netizens further scrutinized the situation through videos, revealing that the security team had not only closed off the terminal entrance but also checked passengers' boarding passes - actions that were perceived as overstepping their authority.

The situation has prompted additional complaints to the National Human Rights Commission of Korea, which has classified the security team's behavior as a human rights violation. The issue has even reached the National Assembly, where Lee Hak Jae, president of Incheon International Airport Corporation, faced questions from Democratic Party lawmaker Jeon Yong Gi regarding the severity of the security measures.

In response to the backlash, Byeon Woo Seok’s company has issued an apology for the inconvenience caused. Furthermore, it has been confirmed that the actor’s company has terminated its association with the controversial security team, aiming to resolve the issue and restore public confidence.
