Shaygan Kheradpir has been named the new CEO of Coriant, after making a comeback from being featured in the news in 2014, after he had a rather short but eventful tenure as the CEO for Juniper Networks Inc. He was on a hot seat for ten months following a public attack by some activist investors, this continued with job cuts, a strategy review, and executive defections, all ending when he resigned from Juniper Networks last November following after his leadership and conduct had been reviewed by the board of directors. However, less than a year after leaving Juniper Networks, he is now running Coriant. He took over the company from Pat DiPietro, who has become the vice chairman, and has returned to the role of an operating partner for Marlin Equity Partners, which is a private equity company that was over building Coriant, after stitching together Tellabs, Nokia and a part of the Sycamore Networks. While taking on the position of CEO for Kheradpir, he is not walking into the position blind, as a according to the vendor, he has been working closely with the senior management team since early in the year for the role as the Operating Executive for Marlin Equity Partners. Kheradpir has undoubtedly had plenty of experience in industry, as he has spent time at Verizon Communications and GTE, and also spent some time as a technology and chief operations officer for Barclays Bank. The Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Coriant, Shaygan Kheradpir, is a proven supplier for innovative network solutions that are the leading network operators for over 100 countries. this includes 9 out of the top 10 global tier communications service providers (CSP). Shaygan, has been recognized as a technology and business leader, having over 28 years in executive experience in the technology, telecom, and financial services industries. After beginning his career at the GTE corporation, and then subsequently being appointed as the EVP and Chief Information Officer, for Verizon, and also appointed a member on the executive leadership team that helped to drive the efficiency, systems modernization, pioneering product initiatives, and innovation.
After leaving Verizon, he joined Barclays as the Technology Officer and Chief of Operations, where he served as a member for the bank’s Executive Committee. While at Barclays, he held the leadership role behind the creation of the TRANSFORM program of the company, this was a historical transformation within the bank for the 21st century, this program effecting 50 countries and 150,000 employees. After this role, he became the CEO for Juniper Networks, while in this role, he was in charge of developing an integrated operating plan off the company, while focusing execution of the strategic growing markets of High IQ Networking and Cloud Bilder. And before taking on the role at Coriant, Shaygan had held the position as Operating Partner for Marlin Equity Partners.
